Welcome to my blog.  This is a great way for me to communicate with all of my followers about events, activities, and great things to share.  We are very proud of our school, so there is a lot to talk about.  The first few weeks have been a little crazy however we are up and running and the students are thriving. Some exciting news involves the additional of two additional teachers:  Mrs. Jamieson to second grade and Mrs. Pexton to kindergarten.  Not only will these two additional sections reduce our class size but they will also further enhance our student's educational experiences.  These classes are already filling, if anyone is interested in being placed with either of these two teachers please contact the office as soon as possible.  These sections will begin in their own classes by Thursday, September 29th.  After the excitement of Friday, I am very proud to announce that all students and staff at DPS performed excellently.  I was witness to a school of nearly 430 students with almost 100 staff members work cohesively as a team; the lock down was very successful.  We have already made notes of areas that can be improved and this is great input for our Crisis Committee to review so these procedures can be perfected.  With already 5 weeks under our belts, I am very excited and eager to see what the next few weeks will bring.  Just a reminder - our accreditation visit will take place in just two weeks!
